Using Analog Humidity Sensors

Voltage Divider

Probably, the easiest way to use a resistive analog humidity sensor is to use it as a voltage divider. Just apply an alternating current across a series connection of a fixed value resistor and the sensor. Then, measure the peak voltage across the sensor which corresponds to an equivalent relative humidity measurement.

You should have an alternating current source to be able to use the sensor as a voltage divider. However, the additional alternating current source circuitry might add complexity to your project. Unfortunately, capacitive humidity sensors cannot be used as voltage dividers.

There is also an alternative way of using the sensor as voltage divider presented in this discussion forum.

from where i will take output frequency to measure resistance, mean to say from shmit triggerr’s output pin or from input pin?
